OPEN CALL
IMMERSIVE SOUND R&D
Sound Art / Music / Combined ArtsWe invite artists and researchers from a variety of disciplines to apply for the Immersive Sound Research and Development Open Call. The open call is for proposals that explore creative ideas in immersive audio.
No previous experience in 3D audio is required to apply.
The selected project participant/s* will be given:
- Free use for two days of AMOENUS 3D sound facility, comprising of 17 custom build speakers positioned in a spherical array and AUDITIF immersive audio technology. The facility is located IKLECTIK Art Lab in London.
With the technology, any sound sources can be positioned, "sculpted", in the space and their trajectory controlled through an innovative approach that resembles tools used for electronic music composition. The sonic sculpture can be performed in real-time through AUDITIF touch-based controller app. The sound position can be also controlled via a Max For Live device or through OSC data.
- Technical support and advice throughout the research for all that concerns using 3D audio.
- £420 fee to carry out the research
The participant will give an oral presentation about their idea at the AMOENUS opening event and share the result of their research in the closing event
* Only 1 project will be selected - the research should be ideally carried out by one person but projects involving multiple people will be considered. In this case, the fee will have to be shared by everyone involved in the project.
The R&D will take place in accordance with COVID-19 related social distancing and health & safety measures. Changes to the project might occur due to the unexpected nature of the present times.
